Should I change the chain at the same time ? Is there any whay of telling how worn a chain is as it has not been on the bike for as long as the sprockets. rab shropshire Posted December 2, 2009 Report Share Posted December 2, 2009 If you are changing both sprockets I would change the chain as well, as your new sprockets will last longer with a new chain.Also tarty recommend that you change your chain every 3 months regardless.
