Prevent Punchers

Recommended Posts

Hi i have been prone to getting punched so i thort of a way to make it harder to get one

What i did:

I got an old innertube and cut the valve out and cut all the way round the old tube and

placed it over my new tube and put the tyre back on the wheel

and i had myself a double thickness innertube on budjet

and i have not had a puncher since

try it out (Y)

tell me what you think

Sounds like a great idea,

I might try it, im constanty getting pinched on mis-judged steps and things.

How heavy is it though? does it effect your acceleration? does it effect handling?

cheers

Aymon

Well it'd be like having two innertubes, so around 200g heavier

of course it affects acceleration, how much depends on the weight though.

Doubt it, probably affects how the bike handles in the air to some minute degree though.

You're best off getting a thicker DH tube, or a thicker dual ply tyre if you;re forever getting " punctures"

A 2ND tube is a good idea this was what i used years ago, but now i use car seat belts! they are very light weight easy to fit and i have not had a puncture with them not even snake bites as you fit them right into the rim :D

you can get them from any car scrap yard or like me from an abandoned car! (Y)
