Alex Dark
My friend said that if I bleed the brake with water, in the winter it will freeze and break my HS33's Is this true?It will freeze when winter rolls around if your bikes outdoors....however ive had them freeze on me, even while riding and it's done them no damage whatsoever IF you're that bothered, whack some anti-freeze in there
Adam Griffiths
wont anti-freeze just eat the seals?

Ali C
in the winter it will freeze and break my HS33'sAs the water freezes, it expands slightly and pushes your pads towards your rim. That's about it, really. It just means you can't ride, so putting a bit of anti-freeze in with your water means you can ride with a water bleed all year round. LukasMcNeal
Every other time this topic comes up someone says this, today I feel my duty. Vees don't freeze
MiuSliS
Water freeze may cause crack, but it's not 100% to happen. Although riding with water isn't really the best idea.
Ben John-Hynes
Water, oil and a bit of washing up liquid. Quick lever feel, no freezage and nice lubey seals. Win.

Ross McArthur
Water, oil and a bit of washing up liquid. Quick lever feel, no freezage and nice lubey seals. Win.Will that not make your brake spongy and put bubbles in your hose?
Ben John-Hynes
Nope. Because it mixes with the oil. Let it settle down after you've mixed it and it's fine. My brake's as solid as it was with pure water.
