Jan Tore
Hi.I was wondering how a front magura would be, compared to a good disc brake. I badly need better bite, so I'm going for a new one.All inputs are very appreciated./Jan Tore

If you need the answer to a question, please ask in trials chat. If you have useful information you think will be handy for other members, please to post it! Thanks. But anyway.. Magura HS33 (and v-brakes) have way more bite than discs. Personally i would recommend a front v-brake but that's just preference.

How's the bite/hold on a vee?
duncan_echo26
I think the bite and hold with v-brakes is pretty much the same as maguras.Anyway here is some good stuff about vee's Vee's have soo many advantages. They feel quickerThey are easier to set-upPads don't get rounded edges because there is no play in vee pads.LighterParts are more widely available. Cables etc.More powerful than Magura's and discsYou don't have to deflate your tyre to take your wheel offLevers like the Sd7 lever have a TPA (barrell adjuster) aswell as a power adjustmant so you can get the perfect feel out of your brakeThe list goes on to be honest.I wouldn't reccommend getting the Ultimates to be honest. They are very very expensive and the SD7's are great and cheap.
315r
Personally, i think that if you practice street or extreme natural is best V-brake or maguras. If you practice "standard" natural maybe is best front disk.I had the same question arround my mind a month ago when my magura louise lever blade broke....Then I though to change to HS33, avid bb7 disk or Hope.My Louise was under waranty and my blade was changed for free, but now i'm quite sure to continue with disk, my level is not extreme and i like a lot natural.
