Guesty
Hello As i have been looking through some of the trials pictures on the website, I have noticed some kind of protection on the bottom of the frame between the bash ring and front wheel. I am just wondering what you are using? I presume that this is there to protect the frame from scratches and dints to some extent. Do you buy it from a shop like the chainstay / chainslap are is it a D.I.Y kind of thing?? Thanks Matt(Guesty)
Soon to be Rowan Johns
Loads of people just wrap electrical tape round their frame, i don't though, because I bought my bike, ready-scuffed
craigjames
You maybe able to find an amourdillo on ebay which was a downtube protector, i dont know if its sold in the shops anymore. If not bit of plastic pip with some thin padding behind zip tied on?
Guesty
Well I'am new to the trails scene on a nice shiny new koxx frame so i think it could end in scratch's and dints Is there anything else that people use? Abit more appealing to the eye ThanksI have just had a quick look on E-bay and searched for amourdillo and downtube protector and come back with no results, But i will have a proper look later. I am just wondering if anyone has tryed the pipe insulation available at D.I.Y shops I think it is like a foam type material? And also how often are you catching the bottom of the frame? I no it might be a stupid question depending one what you are doing on your bike but i am just wondering if it is worth trying to protect it? Thanks
AaronR504
get an old tyre and cut it down to the right length, Then put a bit of electrial tape down to protect the frame and then just cable tie the old tyre across the length of the frame, Thats what me and all my mates do and if done properly will give you bit of grip on a wall should you hit and and also persoanlly looks pretty cool (Down hill tyres work realy well)

The Legend
I am positive you can buy a scott chainprotector thing from Chain Reaction Cycles or maybe Wiggle. I think they are only about £10 or less!
duncan_echo26
Yeh, you probably can buy chainstay protectors on wiggle and chain reaction but if you land on it doing a side hop or that it will probably just get a hole in it.I got really hard compound GT grips taped to my bike on the side I sidehop to It works surprisingly well
