N.Wood
How or why people run lower pressures for rock I don't know
Jan Tore
How or why people run lower pressures for rock I don't know I generally like the feel better. The tyre will also fold easier around the rock edges for grip.
N.Wood
Yeah.. I find rocks have sharper edges than the 90 degrees of street, and the off camber edges mean it rolls alot for take offs. Less noticeable on rounded rocks though. I used to have harder tyre for street but have swapped in the latter years of trial du monde. Jiten
What do you think is the best pressure for someone who is a begginer and who weighs 13.5 stone?
aener
~35-40 in both for me.Not sure on numbers - I tend to squeeze it. I know how hard I like them to FEEL, rather than the number. Quite hard, though.

Ben John-Hynes
Pump 'em before I ride, let it out if I want less. Use a pump if I let too much out. I bet 90% of the people who've posted "Oh I run 9 PSI in the rear for rocks, that's such a small amount I can do it with my mouth" are bullshitting. You don't take that much notice of the numbers, you just pump it to where the gauge looks pretty.
