Matthew62
Its not 3d like new cinema techniques jeff! Its an anaglyph, like we had in the 70's yeah. It is filmed with two cameras about 3 inches apart (to mimic the dinstance between our eyes) then one camera takes the green and blue alpha channels whilst the other camera takes the red channel (forming RGB).The glasses absord the channels and basically re-enact what our eyes do naturally. The brain is tricked and items in the scene of differing distances apear seperated, giving the 3d effect. Its working great as ive already tried it. RobinJI
Sounds a bit silly but are you wearing the glass's? The sainsburys next to work has been giving out 3d glass's for 'channel 4's 3d week'beaten to it, but the point still stands. Mooore!
My glasses turned up just in time. We don't have a Sainsburys over here so I had to get some sent over. Some of it was good last night but I found quite a lot was straining my eyes. The greatest ever 3d moments on Sat should be a good one to watch. that NBR dude
I tried watching the Derren Brown thing in 3D, but because I am colour-blind between red and green, it just didn't work at all. Was like watching a normal program but in black and white.
Matthew62
If your brain cannot determine what red is then the technique used last night won't work for you.It did appear as though they shifted the technique slightly from traditional anaglyphs and used an orangey/yellowy tone compared to a direct red.
