kevtim
Hay people, returned to trials after a two/three year gap and have been getting mid back pain. Id get bad back trouble when i used to ride and it was always present and bloody annoying. Not serious pain, but enough of a twinge to make me not go for big ups or gaps. The pain is middle back and on my left side(spine to the side of my ribs), i ride with my right foot forward. I have been doing lower back exercises to try stamp it out but it's still there when i ride. Anybody got any good advice that might help get rid of it because i hate holding back when im riding in fear of injury. I stretch and do about half an hour of back exercises before i go on any ride because this is the only thing that ever stopped it getting worse. All advice and help welcome please! Cheers!Kev

austen
Go see a back specialist (canny mind what there called) my back was really bad and couldn't leave my bed at one point ( only 14 at the time, 16 now ) and I tried the physio, got these silly exercises t do, they didn't do shit. So a year and a half later, after having to go really easy when participating in any sport, i went and seen a private back specialist, ended up paying £240 on getting my back re-aligned and acupuncture, and since i got that done, not had any problems! So yeah go see what they say, it'll be worth it. James Shields
as suggested above, but maybe the bike isn't actually helping you, by the bike i mean the setup. maybe try a higher bar and stem combo (high rise) to stop you being bent foreward and stretched over to the bars? i use to get stiff back from ym stock and i think this is why. just a thought mind you.james
kevtim
Cheers guys, really appreciate all the advise! I'll go see my doctor and see if i can sort something out. I think my riding posture isn't great also (after watching some videos back) I bend my back lots on hop ups to back wheel! The next time i go out riding i'll have to try keeping my back as straight as possible and see if that helps!CheersKev
snoolax
back problems could be easily serious, definitely do get an x ray or a MRI if the problem persistent more than 1 to 2 weeks of good rest. A slip disc or any sort is not funny.
willis-gu
Go and see a chiropractor. They will give your back a good clicking, you might have a joint which is seized up or something out of place which will need realining.
