cashu
Here's my new Marino 24. I thought I'd try a short wheelbase, higher bb 24. It rides great and is just what I was hoping for. Great back wheel control but still short, spinny and hoppy.Geo: 1030 wb, 380 cs, +45 bbPartial spec list:Marino frameThomson stemBlack Market 3" barsEclat Complex seat/postSpank Stiffy rear rimSpank Subrosa front rimYess tensionerWeighs about 23 lbs.Any comments welcome.-Rich

Dan Clark
Thats interesting with the high BB, certainly something I'd consider.Anymore in depth description to how it rides compared with a more normal geo 24?
Ross McArthur
Very nice!I think some black or green Marino stickers would have looked nice on that though.A wee video of you riding it would be cool!
siede.
you need some vee's on it Looks pretty bmx-like, but I love it (Every new 24" Marino has a thomson stem? xD) Edited November 11, 2009 by siede.
cashu
beautiful! how long does it take for marinos to get to you nowadays after ordering? For me it took about three weeks total from ordering to delivery.Thats interesting with the high BB, certainly something I'd consider.Anymore in depth description to how it rides compared with a more normal geo 24?The geometry of the bike is probably not for everyone. I'm 5'8" and the shorter wheelbase is just about perfect. I've owned a 24UK and an Inspired and the reach is just about in the middle of the two. The slightly shorter chainstay helps with bunnyhops and I don't really notice a big difference in the ease of pulling the front up. The bike feels very lively on the back wheel, more so than my previous frames. The +45bb (equal to roughly +20 on stock) took me a couple of rides to get used to. I was feeling a little too hunched over with the 2" Deity bars I originally had. But the 3" Black Market bars made all the difference. Mat Smith!!
Oh haha, looks thinner for some weird reason .
craigjames
Looks so nice and clean, something simple and uncluttered about steel frames; is he using chromoly yet? Dunno if i like the idea of the super high BB but i guess if you want a more trialsy feeling 24" i guess its the solution.
Mark W
I'd quite like to try a 24" bike with a higher BB. It seems weird how people want them to do spins and stuff on, but then want really low BBs which makes spins worse? Making a 24" flicky bike have a lower, more stable BB height seems counter-productive. Same way that almost all BMXs now have what would be considered as 'high' BBs, because it makes spins and front wheel tricks a lot nicer.Anyways, nice looking bike
toyota200x
That geo seems pretty interesting. I'd love to try it out.It looks good too!The bike looks great. Very nice parts selection. The higher BB looks strange though…almost to high for anyone wanting to ride actual trials on a 24".
grant wildman
Looks hot!!!! quite bmx'y with the higher seat tube , i like! street is king!!cant wait to get pics of my marino up here! much likeyx
Revolver
The bike looks great. Very nice parts selection. The higher BB looks strange though…almost to high for anyone wanting to ride actual trials on a 24".The geo I came up with was 1035, 375, +35, so it's pretty similar. I think it was that, anyway. The Hitcher
That is beautiful. Very nice indeed. Hoping to order a 24 marino soon, do they do the paint job as well?
Danny@phatworks
That is beautiful. Very nice indeed. Hoping to order a 24 marino soon, do they do the paint job as well?Yes, paint job is part of the frame price Pretty interesting geometry to be honest, I would be quite curious to how they ride. I have a 24" from Marino on the way however very 'trialsy' geo which I am looking forward to playing with. Your bike looks sweet Dude, nice work! cashu
Thanks for the comments everyone.Looks pretty cool man. really like it. What are the spank rims like? Look really chunky and strong. The Spank rims are fantastic. The Stiffy is 40mm wide and is super strong and stiff. It is on the heavy side at around 690 grams. But it is one of the stiffest rims I've ever ridden. I have run my tires with really high 'street' psi and also really low 'trials' psi on this rim. It also holds a grind well, similar to a DX32. The Subrosa rim is also strong but also pretty light at 535 grams. I think its 30mm wide. The weight and width are perfect for me for a front rim. eskimo
Very smart. But the green Echo cranks make it look tacky.
