monkeyseemonkeydo Posted November 9, 2009 Report Share Posted November 9, 2009 I stick my pads and disc in boiling water to try and get out the oil and then stick my pads in a hot oven for 10mins to burn off residual oil. davey1991 Posted November 9, 2009 Report Share Posted November 9, 2009 Yo to stop da breeks sqeeking put WD40 on dem...Bake the pads to try get some of the oil out of them and you can use acetone (SP?) e.g. nail varnish remover on the rotor.The pads will never be the same and I would just replace them but the rotor should be okay. Sam Oliver Posted November 9, 2009 Report Share Posted November 9, 2009 Are your pads contaminated with brake fluid, if so bin them!I always clean my rotor's with cellulose thinners as the residue evaporatesleaving a shiny new finish! Clean with kitchen towel.if the pads are just dirty sand them on a flat stone surface doing circular motion works every time for me! Sam.
