^^^ Yes Bens right the more holes you have, the more cooling you have therefor your pads have less chance of glazing over.

Shurly more surface area would make more friction and then better braking?

Its not the rotor what just makes the brake more powerfull its the diametre of the pistons just as much actually.

What rotor are you running now.

Im running a standard avid bb7 182mm rotor at the min, but would like something lighter. Would a 160 be to small for stock?

Yes, a 160 would actually be too small to be honest. Maybe a 180 would suit a stock better, yes the Rockman rotors look good but they look a bit on the cracky side.

If you're talking about the front then the 160mm may not be too small, depending on your riding style. If you like bite and lock then yeah it'd be too small, but if you like a bit of modulation it'd be fine!

If you're talking about the rear, I tihnk a 160mm BB7 would be far too small.

It is for the front. I will stick with 180 then as it does lock and bite well. my mate has a 160 with his hope on stock and it feels ok.
