willis-gu
So basically i have cracked my t-pro and the crack is getting bigger and i can feel it when i ride. So i was just looking for advice really. If i drill each side of the crack, it will give the crack no other place to go right?, other than to start a fresh crack at the other side or the hole which will take time.Do you think this will make it last longer, or weaken it even more? Advice will be great cheers
hdmackay
I don't think that would do you much good to be honest.
Mat Smith!!
well....my mate had a koxx kenny thing, and it cracked in 4 places, he drilled each side of the cracks and it never started cracking in the same place, it then cracked on both dropouts and he couldnt drill them out, so it eventually snapped there, so it will work, but you will have some horrible noises and flex coming from your frame, this also had a flat downtube, was the most abused frame i have ever seen, and from a koxx it lasted nearly 3 years, with alot of heavy riders .so it will work, it'll just be gross and will probs crack in a different place in 3-4 months . Mr Bob
Just do it! If it works great if not prepare for it to die or get a new frame for crimbo. you could get another t_pro frame cheap second hand w/o cracks.

Mark W
Drilling it gives the crack nowhere to go soit should be alright. Just make sure you don't go mental and put some hefty inch wide holes in there or anything. Just bear in mind that depending on how big the crack is it might be too late to really do anything about it...

durkie
yeah yeah, just small holes, hopefully it will be ok suppose we shall seesounds like you're doing multiple holes for one crack - you really just want to do one at the very tip of the crack. willis-gu
sounds like you're doing multiple holes for one crack - you really just want to do one at the very tip of the crack.yeah...which will be two holes because the crack is from a gusset and splits each way across the down tube
Mike Winton.
Drill it, but use a brand new or very sharp drill bit, should give you a bit longer but to be honest even drilling it wont save it
