Neon Bow Mod Frame

Recommended Posts

Mate used to have one, Just sold it on to get a new bike.

But it rode absolutely amazing. Would have rode it over my bike anyday(And did on many occasions). It didnt even have a front brake and i still rode it better than i did my own bike.

Wack a nice set of risers on it and it will ride amazingly. For both Street and Natty.

1040 WTF? thats the best street geo mod frame on tarty now!!!!!!!

Loads of people snap neons, as loads of people snap most trials frames these days. . . . . . . . . .

If you want some advice worth yoru while heres my top tip DONT BUY A FRAME BECAUSE IT IS STRONGER THAN OTHER FRAMES.

I rode a onza ice snapped it, then I got a other onza ice because I rode it well <

Theres not one mod frame on tartybikes that you dont stand a chancce of not cracking!!!!!

NEVER GO BY WHAT OTHERS THINK!!!!! your the one whos going to ride it

To be honest, I'm not that concerned about the prospect of my Lynx snapping. They're pretty light, but I'd imagine it'd still take a reasonable amount to break one.

Re: Neon Bow geometry - part of the reason it's a 1040 is 'cos the head angle's so slack. The reach of the Neon's about 10mm shorter than my Lynx, yet my Lynx has a wheelbase about 10mm shorter than the Neon. It's worth bearing in mind if you're thinking of buying one (Y)

Why not buy a stronger frame than another? if you weigh loads surly it makes sense (Y)

Ok my point has just gone streight threw you then, let me explain and make it a little bit easyer for you to understand.

simple turms now,

If you wanted a strong frame you could opt for maybe a zoo python 07. . . . but what if you could ride a koxx xtp(well known for snapping) better, you then have the choice,

DO I WANT TO RIDE GOOD, OR DO I WANT A FRAME THAT WONT SNAP.

All im saying is in this day and age there isnt a frame on tartybike that you dont stand a chance of snapping, and as mark said he isnt worried about his frame going, but also hes not exactly opted for it just because its strong, he would have also looked at the geo and picked this frame out over say an ice/limey/zoo09pythong ect.

BACK TO TOPIC, again taking into account what mark said, the headtube angle makes the geo. . . . to me thats a really big off put as unless neon make weird shape stems it would ride crap.

You don't need a light frame to ride 'good' though. Just look at the photos of Ali riding his XC bike on our trials course - he does some stuff on it that I'd think twice of doing, yet it's a full-on XC bike. Just because something's lighter it won't make it better for your needs, and with my Lynx I didn't even look at the weight at first. I purely chose it on geometry and knowing that the frame was fairly strong. It was nice to find it was light, but when I was riding years ago I was quite happy riding mods that were 25-27lbs, which is seemingly unthinkable now.

Unless you're a proper comp fiend you don't necessarily need to shed the most weight possible, and the comparison between having to replace an £800 frame regularly with NOT having to replace a £250 frame is a no-brainer for most people.

EDIT: The Neon doesn't really need to have a 'weird' stem to ride alright, with a normal mod stem it should be fine - I was merely pointing out that the long wheelbase didn't equate to a long reach, if that was what a potential customer was looking for that.

sorry, I did not mean anything towards the weight of the two frame at all, simply saying the geo and strenth. and ali c is ali c haha, I know I would for one be happyer on some geos than others. . . . .
