I normally do it just by using the breaks and see where it rubs. But you could stick some blu-tack to the frame and then use a pen or something to see where it wobbles

I agree, just move your pads so there slighty catching the buckle but enough to slow it down an notice where the buckle is. Then adjust it, simple as.
