Rafal
Is there any case of broken try all carbon bar? Hope's not cause i'm saving money for one of them. I've seen the thickness of it in k124's shop and it looks very strong. In theory it's harder to break it compared to aluminium, is that right? (carbon fibres) I know, geometry and weight make a difference. My question is 210g carbon try all will be as strong as others try all/trialtech/etc bars? or less? I would like to hear a review of someone who rode it more than 1-2months thanks Edited October 31, 2009 by Rafal
PaRtZ
what you're saying about strength is not *strictly* trueCarbon fibre has a much greater UTS (ultimate tensile strength) which basically is the maximum strength the material can withstand before it starts necking (elongation of the material and a reduction in cross sectional area). What this means is you cant stretch the bars outwards which normally doesn't happen anyway unless you're weird. The however is in the direction which they are normally used, they are far weaker than aluminum. They can obviously withstand the forces of use on a trials bike, they're not THAT useless... but if you crash badly on them, they die. The stresses on the hoop of the bars are simply too high and they buckle Ive also heard this from a first hand source who, as hes not replied, probably isn't allowed to say himself or cba or whateverSo in essence they're great if you''re not going to fall on them. They're super light and in use you wont feel a difference in rigidity with them. IMO, not worth the stonking price tag :/
Rafal
I'm more scared of bunnyhop snaping or gap snaping (should i?)rather than falling on it from heights. I've never snapped trials handlebar but some years ago standard bars was breaking quick when i used to learn bunnys ;-)The price is rediculous and that's why i want to hear some advice and experience. Thanks Partz Edited October 31, 2009 by Rafal

Im not carrying about weight anymore (anyway not that much). I just love feeling and looking of this bar and im curious how carbon works in the long time. If it has natural flex a little it should be better for my weak wrists too.Where did they break?acer bar in the middle and amoeba in the middle of rise, but it was 6 years agoAnother thing is my weight...95kg Edited November 1, 2009 by Rafal
Matt Burrows
95kg? I'm 80kg and wouldn't touch a carbon bar. I've seen enough light riders break decent carbon bars to put me off. Saying that I seem to break alu bars pretty regularly, and most have gone without warning, no creaks before hand just a sudden failure. Bar snapping is not nice! The only trials bars I haven't broken were old Zoo bars, but the current ones have a horrible shape
James Quigley
Doesn't TRA ride Sintace carbon XC bars? Now that guy must weigh a bit, or definitely isn't a light rider.Might change them regularly though.
