Ali C
not true, Stan has one black pad and one CRM on his 24" and its one of the most powerful brakes I have ever seen! Its like he has tar, mega loud and bitey as hell!Danny Mac came to tartybikes a few months ago, he tried some tnn pads but found them too powerful on his smooth rim! DannyBazz (:
I have to say I never thought much of TNN... Had a go on my mates bike yesterday with TNNs on a medium grind. Absoloutly amazing, best brake I've ever seen. Hold, bite, noise- everything's perfect with them.danny xxxx

Ali C
well yeah, people combine pads all the time
hdmackay
well yeah, people combine pads all the timeI don't really see the point because if your brake starts failing, you won't know which pad is too blame. One could be absolutely amazing and the other completely shite and you wouldn't know. So in the future you might avoid both these pads when buying new sets but if you had got two of the good ones your brake would be unreal. Lol... That kinda didn't even make sense in my head:lol:
Matt_Thibeau
I was debating replacing my rock Blues with TNN Lgms. But I wasnt sure they were that great, after reading reviews on watching vids on the proformance they seem awsome!! im sold on it!

hdmackay
I think its good to combine pads Get a pad which is good for bite and a pad which is good for hold =WinOrrr.....Get two pads which are good for both bite and hold = more of a win. Also don't have to worry about the different pads wearing at different rates, and when you need a new set, if you combine, you need to pay for two sets. Whereas if you just use the same pad you only pay for one.

Whereas if you just use the same pad you only pay for one.Its better to combine pads, what about you have one pad for wet and one pad for dry!! you cant get pads which work well in both! So therefore combine the pads!!And for the paying for two sets, why dont you just find a friend, and swop a pad each so really your only buying one set!! Anything else you would like me to clear up? Theres plenty. And that means you need to persuade your friend to run odd pads too.And you didn't clear up different wear rates either. Sam Moss
are people going to start having a grind on 1 side of the rim? Edited November 1, 2009 by Sam Moss
Ali C
Before TNN pads came out I used to run random pads. I rather liked one plaz (good in the dry, ace bite but lacking hold) and one koxx brown (good in the wet, good hold but not as bitey as the plaz). On my inspired I had one black pad set up close to the rim for modulaton and an Atomz pad further away for power when I needed it. And how can i possibly clear up about the wear rates! I dont make the pads! Its just something you have to put up with!

Revolver
Why do some people run one pad mega close and one pad far away from the rim ?Even when they are running the same padsModulation?Ali C explained that.If the pads are bitey, running them so they engage one at a time will give you some modulation. Of course, other people will just set up their brake shite.
