Danny Mac Vw Commercial

Well more like the guy who wrote the blog. Reassuringly all of the 150 or so comments did not agree with what he was saying about Danny which i was both suprised and pleased by.

It is kind of true though, you cant deny that, ive seen bmxers do backflips off trees n front flips off walls etc but none of them get famous like danny mac, with enough practise most good bmxers could do most of what danny mac can do on his bike, not trying to spark an argument, but its the truth.

True i am sure. I'm guessing mtb'ing and trials appeals to an older market as it seems a bit more 'grown up' compares to ruffians on kids bikes (obviouslly not my opinion).

Also it could be that BMX seems to be progressing towards a stupid gansta image which wont be appealing to VW or many other companies also. Also....it could be that Danny is a very nice bloke with a great attitude towards his riding compared to a lot of BMXers who have their head up their arse and a huge ego.

If you read a lot of the replies to the original comment (from BMX riders) they make a lot of good and informed reasons for why they disagree with the original post and they seem to have a good attitude.

We dont need to continually copare Dannys riding to BMX or how much of it is trials, hes just riding his bike the way he wants, having fun and doing exceptionally well. That video and other Danny Mac videos aren't BMX so BMXers shouldn't have a chip on their shoulder - hes not raining on their parade. It just comes across as jealousy to me because he is doing well.

The BMXers are liking it, mostly, bar the admin guy who is clearly in denial that danny is a GOD on a bike. I'm a BMXer, and totally 100% appreciate how bloody talented danny is and how he does deserve the recognition he is getting. He is up there with the best people to ever 'ride a bike' along with Steve peat, Lance armstrong, Garret Reynolds, Cranmer, Mark Webb, Daniel dhers etc.

So pleased he is pissed off at this!

I do have to vent at BMX as a scene, for every time I've been into the skatepark or at the trails or even riding street and had a thousand dirty looks, or million comments on why I dont sell my bike and get a BMX designed for the job.

Sorry mate but danny just got the job done 1 million times better than any of the 'pro' BMX scene who are too worried about matching the colour of their frame with their wheels, or wearing the right clothes and listening to the right music when making sure you fit seamlessly amongst the other million boring, same, mardy BMX crew!

Massive well done to danny, perhaps BMX's might start smiling and allowing people who don't exactly resemble themselves to ride with them at the same spots.

PS

I ride a 24 inch street bike and loads of my close mates ride BMX but they all share the exact same sentiments about the scene as a whole...

:) found out danny made £30,000 on this add!

Blimey! Not bad for a few hours work. I wonder how much a big fat cheque pushed him to do things he otherwise wouldn't have (E.g. that huuuuge gap).

Also it could be that BMX seems to be progressing towards a stupid gansta image which wont be appealing to VW or many other companies also.

Yeah exactly. Anyway, from what I've seen of the BMX scene they'd moan just as much if BMX was in an advert - calling the rider a sellout no doubt. Bunch of moaning c**ts :P

I guess the money would have come in pretty handy on hospital bills if danny had f**ked up on that huge 180 gap. Its a shame the former Redbull Bike battle, or Nissan Quashai Bike Challenge events are no longer happening as it would be interesting to see danny ripping it up in the comp scene.

That was awesome riding, but it would never make me buy the car. I'm not really sure why they've started mixing cars with extreme sports. Like a car can really do that stuff, or go down that mountain as well as a dude on a snowboard. I know they don't mean it like that, but whatever!

But it's great news for Danny earning big dollar now. I think he's earned it, he seems a nice guy, clearly has worked hard and mainly pushed the 24" forward allot.

As for bmxers, the majority of bmxers are douche bags anyway. Not saying all trials guys are cool, as we know, there are a few who suck. But bmx is ridiculous these days.

But a % of the media coverage is down to the fact he has a seat and some bigger wheels. It's common knowledge that bmxs do tricks and mtbs don't. So when this guy turns up and does some crazy stuff that doesn't seem physically possible, people are all over it. Like i said a %, no numbers given.

He is up there with the best people to ever 'ride a bike' along with Steve peat, Lance armstrong, Garret Reynolds, Cranmer, Mark Webb, Daniel dhers etc.

I'll get shit for this too, but them last few names you mention haven't pushed bmx as hard as allot of other older names. Not that makes any difference.

Why do BMX'ers in general hate MTB's?

As a rider I appreciate all forms of riding, I like the Tour, I like going up the park and watching BMX'ers, I like riding street on my 24, I like trials on a 26, hell I even just like riding about on a normal mountain bike every now and again.

BMX'ers seem to get so uptight about MTB riders doing tricks - I for one can't ride a BMX very well, it just feels too small, perhaps I need more time to adjust I don't know. Doing tricks on my DMR just seems more natural for me so...

Danny is clearly extremely talented, it seems that guy is hating for no reason.

He seriously is f**king stupid who ever wrote that artical, what a complete nob! It wasnt just the moves in dannys video which made him famous, it was the editing too! and too top that off i am pritty sure there is not many bmxers who could pull of tricks and moves aswell as danny can. Yeah they maybe able to do massive 360's down stair sets and the may well be able to flair out of a tree, but will they be able to hop on the rear wheel, do hooks, go upto front, wheel swop, because danny CAN do that aswell as all the bmx moves!

Danny has took trials to a new level and coorperated bmx move in it too, no one has ever seen this before! thats why he is where he is today, plus hes crazy as f**k!
