MikeCottTrials
Just wondering if anyone here plays the ukulele?I need some good songs to try, I'm fairly novice :$ I'm waiting on my birthday to receive an upgrade at the moment. I'm basically playing the shittiest one in the world, I suspect no matter how accomplished a person is they would not be able to make mine sing like a fat lady.Mines sounds more like a screaming pigeon

BenJohnson
I have dabbled in the playing of the ukulele and have mastered the A minor 7 chord. Some good songs to try would be jonny cash ring of fire, unchained melody by rightious brothers. What uke have you got at the moment? and what are you upgrading to? Matthew62
I dont play properly. I tuned mine to be the same as a bass so i can use it as a solo instrument only for experimental recording. Try listening to John Frusciantes ''Niandra LaDes and Usually Just A T-Shirt'' for some crazy ukelele playing.

MikeCottTrials
I've been learning Hurt among others but my ukulele cost about £15 and sounds terrible. Also I have an auto tuner to get the standard GCEA but my tuner doesn't have a C can anyone shed some light on why this may be? BenJohnson
to tune your c string bar the c string on the second fret and tune from there. hope that helps Edited October 28, 2009 by BenJohnson

Matthew62
Is your tuner a chromatic tuner? If you've just got a shitty eadgbe one then you can't tune to C. Use a piano or fret a c on another string and match - use your ears.
