VOLTAGE25 Posted October 25, 2009 Report Share Posted October 25, 2009 My little bro was out on his monty today and while he was cycling the cranks were clicking then 1 big crack now there seems to be no drive when your pushing the bike the wheel is turning and so are the cranks but when you try to cycle the pedals just turn but nowt happens. is this the cranks or the bottom bracket or somethin else. thanks. rab shropshire Posted October 25, 2009 Report Share Posted October 25, 2009 an old hydra 220 2003an old hydra 220 2003it has a ft freewheel but that seems to turn. looks like it and the cranks have come unattached or somethin.The 2003 hydra has the freewheel mounted on the rear hub and a fixed cog on the cranks it sounds to me like the freewheel is broken, as I dont think the cranks can unattach without falling of the bike. craigjames Posted October 26, 2009 Report Share Posted October 26, 2009 It will be that the Freewheel has gone pop and will either need rebuilding or most likely replacing, or the threads have stripped on either the hub or the cranks. VOLTAGE25 Posted October 26, 2009 Author Report Share Posted October 26, 2009 Took the beast to my local bike shop and turns out it is the freewheel at the ft thats at fault so they have the bike and are goin to fix it this week.
