Hey, I'm having a problem with my magura on my Echo forks :( I have killed the mounts two times now :S, First time I killed the threads so I re taped them, then they went agen :S, So this time I drilled the mounts out and re tapped to M6 only ridden it for 20minets to day and endo droped off a wall and my forks flexed agen and pulled the threads out of the forks, Is there anyway I could weld them and start all over agen?

Welding I can get done for free.

But welding them in exactly the right place is not so easy well for me anyway lol, not to mention getting them properly heat treated. I just dont think if you welded new mounts on that they would last. Hellicoil for the win, but then again this is just my oppinion.

It will still need heat treated to prevent the new mounts snapping off, look into the helicoil its cheap as chips, just out of interest where have you seen new mounts that you could buy.

On another thought was the tapping tool you used exactly the same thread as the bolts you used, I dont mean diameter but the thread spacing and depth.
