I have no doubt that it can be done just fine but it expect it will need annealing (the welder should know..) and that will need a fairly big oven..! basher Posted October 28, 2009 Report Share Posted October 28, 2009 you could do it fairly easily really, the problem is that you will have to have the frame reheat treated or else it will just crack really quickly around the welded area. it could be expensive to have it heat treated. craigjames Posted October 28, 2009 Report Share Posted October 28, 2009 I really wouldn't bother, the frames aren't the strongest as it is and with welded area compromised strength wise it won't last very long or you could get it heat treated, which will cost a fair chunk of money.
