George.E
Baisically, I have an Onza Mongo 3 headset with Echo Lite forks. There is movement that keeps coming in my headset, my star nut is almost 1cm deep in the steerer tube and isn't near anything at the top. I often have to loosen my stem bolts an tighten the top cap because of it coming loose, I do this around 4 or 5 times a day which has to be to much.My star nut looks like its held in quite tight so Im not sure where I am going wrong.Any advise would be greatful. Thanks guys. tkD
Have you put a spacer on? I always used to forget that :/
sstein
If it has been fitted recently this will tend to happen as all the parts compress!

TROYston
I don't have a mongo but do have a hope internal, one thing i found that helps a treat is a spacer that has a skinny end and a big end push push the skinny end on after you've slid your forks on facing skinny towards the bottom, and it works like a charm, but my headset was still before i did this, might work for you though. psycholist
There may be too much grease on the stem to allow it to clamp tightly enough on the steerer. This is a particular problem with stems that have a very long clamp on the steerer. Check also that there's a gap between the top of the fork steerer and the star nut cap - if there's no gap then it can't tighten more. George.E
Im goning to go and have a proper look at it in a min, iv had the headset for about 8 months so its fine. There is space between the top of the steerer and the top cap so im fine with that. The crown race is on and looks ok. But obviously dont overtighten so the thread strips/you shear a bolt.max Edited October 21, 2009 by trialsmax04

tkD
I meant the bolt that goes down, you tighten that, then tighten the stem.
