Comp Bike Questions

Been looking recently into building a second mod bike to compete on and really like the look of the rockman frames. After my koxx xtp2 I love high bb on a mod but have never tried anything long so how will it suit comp riding.

Of the two I was now thinking of purchasing the maladie as the expense and risk of running disc doesn't attract me. How do people find maguras for competition? Or are dual disc really that much better?

Also anybody got any reviews/pics of their rockman bikes they would like to share?

Please discuss :)

Personally i prefer double disc for competitions i think they are better in the rain because if you have a rim brake it can get slippy and stay shit probably for all of the comp where as disc will just carry on as normal if not works a bit better

Personally I think Rockmans are abit long for comp, I would buy one right away if there was a short wheelbase option and I'm sure I wouldn't be the only one :) i would definately go double disc as long as you dont bend rear rotors like no tomorow on sidehopes as i did :(

Also are you saying your going to have 2 bikes one for comp one for everything else? if so i would make your comp bike as similar as possible to your normal bike and just have lighter components, of course if thats what you ment about building up a second mod.

I would love to run dual disc however I think that I will be too paranoid and I can't afford the disc etc to be honest.

I think I am going to be buying a new frame at christmas time and leading up to it will be buying the necessary parts to complete it while also transferring some from the stock. So if the right parts show up i'll try go dual disc as what frame i get will depend on what parts I have by then.

What are the disadvantages of having the longer wheelbase for competition? Is it just manouverability?

Thanks for the comments so far.
