D A N N Y
lol yer thats what i look like but topless most of the time lol.I have had my current chain on my bike the bikes entire life of a year, and 2 other bikes before that, so its a 3 year old chain. and i worry about it, but have got more important things to buy. My current ffw is a try-all so i don't really trust it anyway. But it will freeze your cranks for spinning anyway giving you time to step back. And all the different size means is ill buy a oddessy fw for the rear and have a sprocket up front.Maybe i can play with gearing also seeming the smallest fw is a 13 tooth. any currently im running 18:12.you ever done a front hop and held your brake by mistake well that makes you go over bars too. scary_jeff
If you have the ability and desire to make some kind of frankenbike, I say go for it. You never know what could come out of it without trying, and if everyone is right and it doesn't work, who cares? If anyone has an idea for any kind of project that isn't going to a big deal financially if it screws up, I would say go for it every time. You could always learn something or spot a really good idea along the way, even if the original idea goes wrong.

Try-All 108.9+old chain = MY DEATH .
Danny Metcalfe
Yer i will try it, you never know. But i will do it out of spare parts and not my every day used parts.I think a new drive system is going to be on order soon. Try-All 108.9+old chain = MY DEATH .I tried your idea before, sort of,on my old GT had a LHD system on it,This was no good, as my leading leg is right (As I'm Normal )(Bought second-hand)then the Freewheel kept skipping, so I thought well as it happens I've got the spare parts, and I couldn't remove das faulty freewheel, and didnt have a non sproketed LH Crank, I ran the 2 together at once, was a complete disaster,I ended up putting too much strain on my BB,with the LH system kept skipping, was still throwing my pedals, and going from drive power of 2 to 1 on a skip, is not good for the bike. And all that was when I managed to tension my chain properly! If it wasn't a problem with one side, it was with the other,I Ended up bending my axle through strain, shattering the insides of my hub, and wore the bearings down in the BB, That could be due to the old BB and hub, but cant help thinking it maybe would've lasted a bit longer...Not saying Don't try it bud,But IMO and experience, it's not all that beneficial.Fun little project on a Sunday afternoon, but I'd much rather be out riding,if I was you, I would just spend the money on a good freewheel, ENO/Tensile, I saw above You mentioned buying an ENO and swapping the core around, so if you was planning that expense anyway, and buy a dirty great fat chain!Hope this was the advice you was looking for,Not trying to shoot you down in flames.Oh and BTW,LOL @ punx!
