Borat
Easy guys. I have a Tektro (sp?) Front disk brake, with an avid sd7 lever. When it's pissing it down with rain, the front brake it amazing. Better than my rear in the dry. But when the weather is dry, it goes really shit. Putting a little bit of water on the disk every now and then kind of helps, but it's really bugging me.Other than getting a whole new caliper and rotor, what can I do to improve it?I have de-contaminated it all, what is there to do? x
hdmackay
Get a front vee. Your halfway there by having an Avid SD7 lever. Seriously. Best front brake EVER! but...If you really wanna stay front disc like a gay boy, you could try getting new pads and also, I heard someone say before to put loads and loads of mud on your rotor and ride with it. Not sure how much it works but it's worth a shot. Also, maybe a bleed? Edited October 10, 2009 by hdmackay

Sam Moss
i had the exact same problem on my mountain bike, i spilled a bit of oil on the disk and it went crap, then about 6 months later i was annoyed with putting water on it and got some new pads and cleaned the disc with muc-off. this sorted it out. before i baught them pads i cleaned the disc and nothing happened and cleaned the pads (even filed them down) and it still didnt do anything. Revolver
Stick a load of mud in there, wet mud, and ride around with the brake on, preferably down hill, so the disc gets nice and hot.
