snoolax
hi guys, recently my elbows have been hurting when i am practising my bunny hops and hopping. I know that the most idela way to land at all times is to land the rear wheel first, but there are some instances like peharps hopping or landing the bunny hop on both wheels puts some stress on the arms, which for me are the elbow. need some advice on how whats the correct technique to land the front wheel.. (yes i am running rigid fork)thanks!
staphan
I'm not very good but theoretically, wouldn't it be easier on your arms to take up more of the impact with your legs? Maybe put your bodyweight further back so that your arms don't have to absorb so much of it when you land? (assuming you land both wheels at the same time) Edited October 7, 2009 by staphan

psycholist
If you're looking for one exercise that will pretty much certainly sort out arm pain, try pushups... Here's a fun (And by fun I mean painful) training regime: http://hundredpushups.com/

MiuSliS
Your arms, wriests and body in general needs to get used to the overload in muscles, so naturaly it will hurt at first. Just right and you will start feeling better, of course proper rest is always good too. Don't push youtsulf too much.
Otacon
youl be suprised Wtf, You become damon all of a sudden ? Takes longer than a couple of months to even notice difference in riding.
N.Wood
Everyones different, just because someone doesn't work as hard at the gym and doesn't feel a difference doesn't mean no one feels a difference after a few months of work. jambo
Stick to the rigid forks dude bit lighter, think of the major harsh landings folk on bmxs take with rigid forks, you`ll get used to it and your muscles will develop the more you ride but a few push ups certainly wont do you any harm. snoolax
hmm true.. i guess its mainly my technqiue since its actually my elbow joints hurting instead of the muscles.. basically i should spread out the impact more? like arms lightly flex so that back and shoulders can take some impact stress too? They eventually recovered after several months of rest (Im old now so things take longer ) and I dont have any problems now, just ride but not too hard so as to hurt yourself; you will soon find that your strength increases dramatically

Otacon
not quite damon. i reckon my ridings improved twice over going to the gym is the answer anyway Really ? Who told you that crap ? If so, Explain Andy B.I'll be honest with you, I've been at the gym for 8-9 Months now, and my riding hasn't improved massivly in that time, what ive maybe gained 2 inches on my sidehops and about half a ft on gaps, but in all honesty, i think thats down to practice from riding. Also just adding muscle wont necessarily make you a better rider, look at gilles, hes 6 foot and lighter than me

The gym doesn't really help with your riding, Look at CLS, he's got no power, he's just perfect technique.
