Looking For A New Bike But No Idea At All What To Get!

Haven't riden in years but looking to get back into riding! :D Not sure what size bike to go for, 20", 24" or 26".

I may get one of each just to try :P but that feels like a bit of a waste... I would like to buy a bike just to get some practice on for a month or so before i go and spend £1000+ on one though!

Any good starter bikes then? Not too expensive but i'm not too fussed as i'll probably not be keeping it long. Or i may keep it as well as the second bike (or even instead depending on how much i like it)

Thanks

Sam

To tell you what I'm looking into: ONZA bikes. Cheap, apparently good for beginners (I hear a lot about the ONZA brand)

Personally, I prefer 26" bikes (my mtb bike is that, so I'm used to it) and would go for the ONZA Spyragyra. Other than that I don't know much about trials bikes...

I don't think there is anyone who lets you test out a range of bikes but if you are wanting a second hand bike then as if you can test ride it before you buy it. I would recommend a Adamant, GU Typhoon, Zoo and an pro series Onza (I have the ice which is pritty nice. =]) Hope i have helped a bit. Thanks. Jordan. x

Thanks but don't think i'll go for an onza. Forgot to mention i'll probably go second hand for this 'practice bike' then buy a new one after. If that makes sence...

Thanks for the reply though :)

Buy a mod. Zoo! are good and if your looking to ride other peoples bikes to get used to it again then you should go Birmingham ride. They are normaly every saturday.

Well iv got an Onza T-Comp and have had it as a first bike its very strong and rebiable.

The only problem is that the back brake isn't very good so you would need to grind the rim or get new pads.

Overall though the bike is very good and I would recomend it as its cheap aswell. :)

Yeah Birmingham is quite far to test some bikes... and i'd feel a bit left out going to a ride without a bike to ride. So think i'll just bite the bullet and get one when i've decided what. Not sure what geometry would suit me, i'm 6 foot so a longer bike would probably be better.

And yeah the bad brakes thing wouldn't be a problem as i know how to set brakes up/grind the rim etc. :)

Just need to get validated again so that i can post in the wanted section. Even more annoying as i have found posts from my old account a couple of years back :P never mind.
