bt rider
Hay allim running a rear single speed Chris king hub but it is so so silent.i would like to no how to make it louder without having to use the Chris king hub servicing tool Thanks Jordan
max-t
The lube in the hub is too thick. If you don't want to take it apart then wash it out with some thinner lube like wd40.Then wipe away the excess.
Mat Smith!!
f**k ORFFFFFFFFFFF , no need for that. All you need to do is give it a service, there is a video of TartyAdam doing it somewere, you can service it without taking the spring out etc, but to make it really loud, you need a tool, or alot of confidence with a hammer and a socket set . James Quigley
It's a great hub, if it works leave it alone, noise doesn't mean performance.I would love my King to be as Silent as Dave Marshalls was on his T-Rex years ago, was smooooooooooth. craigjames
Mine was very quiet to start, but over the last 6 months as the grease has worn through its got louder, probably now needing a service, although its working absolutely fine

Simpson
, no need for that.Hahaha I got a 20% warn for that now on 80%, GOODBYE SOON FAIR TF. Ok I'll make a more constuctive post, to make clear what I ment earlyer, if your bike is working fine then you must be f**king retarded to risk mucking it up for the sake of "making it louder" If its skipping then its a different story and yes the grease may be too thick. Simpson
Making your hub sound louder is the same as wearing skinny jeans and being a lairy northern emo fag because its cool I'll stick to wearing clother which refrain from telling everyone how tiny my penis is, and riding a bike that works! Maybe I'm old fashioned!
MikeCottTrials
Over time it will gradually get louder anyway. I wouldn't touch it...
Phatmike
Actually I'd give it a clean out as Max advised if it's not been done already, it'll mean it's less likely to skip in the future. That, and using a decent lube (Finishline wet for example) will reduce wear and should give it a longer, healthier (and louder :wink2:) life. But hey, maybe I'm just old fashioned? Simpson
But hey, maybe I'm just old fashioned? But he doesn't want to keep his hub well maintained, hes wants to run it dry and streach the springs, if he meerly wants it to be loud.....But hey maybe I read the topic (you know i love you mike)

Luke Rainbird
Run a slightly thicker lube and it'll shut up a bit - easier in a Pro II where you can run grease than a king where it'll shit the bed and kill itself/your face though
