LEON
Has anyone else noticed how awful looking they are?I'm talking the 30" wide range with the all new logos and shape, they have more backswep than eastons, ans less upsweep as well, resulting in the feel of just any other average feeling bar, sure they were never the strongest but the shape weas something for the street rider that couldn't be matched, and they've taken away the 2 reasons i loved them, gone is the upsweep, and they've swpt them back way too much.I ordered a set from chain reaction As i could find virtually no reviews or non catalogue pics of them, I sold them within about 2 hours, why change something so good.I'm using the old shape B-52 O.S bars at the mo and they're ok, not quite double wall shape but good enough, but the 2009 b-52 looks horrid as well, they've basically eliminated all the old bars with the nice up sweep, all i wanted was the old double wall in oversize.Anyone else feeling my pain? I know there's other dedicated azonic users on here.Opinions welcome from like minded individuals, not school kids saying "PWNT..GU RULEZ, DENG ***"The oldThe newYou also can't see the amount of back sweep in the pic, which is a hell of alot more than before, and with the big decrease in upsweep it makes for a very pedestrian feeling bar. That will be all.Leon Edited September 23, 2009 by LEON
Alex Dark
Shame, they seem to have ruined one of the best riding bars on the market How about easton?
LEON
Never liked the feel of easton, plenty strong but I've literally used azonics for the best part of 12 years now, the ea70's like most bars i've found dont have enough upsweep after using azonics. Pro tapers are ok but similar sort of problems.Just don't see why they've done it, surely a bar that wide is only needed for tgs type stuff, for street 27-28 has always been fine and I can't see many proper street riders using full size 30 inch bars. I know it's really aimed at dh but i think there's probably more trials riders using them than anything over the past 10+ years, most dh bikes I see have easton/truvativ/raceface etc. All oversize 27/28" jobs.New single wallsNew B-52All got that same sloppy down swept shape.Leon Edited September 23, 2009 by LEON
dandadude
I must admit the azonic dw bars I use to have on my old bt 4.0 trials bike were the nicest feeling bars i've ridden with. When I get my next stock I will be looking for a second hand pair as i'm not keen on the flat try all/deng style bars that most people run. The dw bars seemed a good seller too, don't really know why they stopped making the old ones, progression I guess Cheers Edited September 23, 2009 by dandadude

notknown
all dh riders are using mega low and wide bars now. that be why.
LEON
all dh riders are using mega low and wide bars now. that be why.Pretty much yea, but I think they should keep the old shape of bar as well as alot of people like it, especially when the the new double walls/single walls are exactly the same shape and almost the same price who the hell's gonna buy the singles? An update to 31.8 was all the old ones needed. I wouldn't mind but there's seriously not a single bar on earth that can match the shape. There's enough used ones at the moment but I don't wanna get used to nasty feeling bars in the future.Leon Edited September 23, 2009 by LEON
