Chris (Khoie) Ellison
My tyres are about dead on my 24" and there origianlly off an apollo x-rated! (yeah believe!) There about a 2.3? iv been scouting round but i can't find any decent ones around that size!?There either street tyres (dmr etc) or like 2.7!!??Any ideas?? I cant really afford to spend a massive amount either
Revolver
I use a hight roller on the back.. I don't think mine's 2.7 though.Maybe you want to try the Kenda Blue groove?
monkeyseemonkeydo
Kenda Blue groove?I run on the back when I do trials and they're really soft and grippy, never get punctures but weigh about the same as a small car. I've chopped every second side knob off it to reduce to the mass a bit. High Rollers can be bought in 2.7" width but I'd say they're a bit overkill. What sort of riding do you do? When not in 'comp-spec' I just run DMR Moto RT's- 2.4" rear and 2.2" front and really like them. Not the best puncture resistance but good for everything else. monkeyseemonkeydo
"Not the best"? They are bloody awfull at puncture protection.Meh. I run reasonable pressures in them and only tend to get one pinch a month, if that... And that's with Tesco innertubes too!

I run about 25-30psi probably with Tesco innertubes and don't puncture even doing 9' rolling gaps...

But havent had a problem on the same rim with a high roller and £1 tubes... in fact on the 11 day roadtrip I got 1 P, which isn't bad. Revolver
"Not the best"? They are bloody awfull at puncture protection. This is true, I pinched mine with a superthick kenda innertube. Similarly, I have a high roller and a bontrager mediocre tube, and haven't pinched it yet.
Simpson
Basically... in summary, Moto RT's are shit at pinch protection, but Dave is a smooth mother f**ker.
Ross McArthur
I must be one of those smooth mother f**kers too then.Moto tyres are great. Good amount of grip, run at 30 psi with a Tesco tube on a DMR DV rim. Cant remember the last time I pinched it. Its a 2.4 by the way. Chris (Khoie) Ellison
I had a moto on my curtis before...and altho it was fast rolling, everytime i slamed brakes on the front one had a bad problem with spinning and ripping the valve off!? Went through a fair few innertubes!haha Im looking for more knobbly rubbers, I just prefer the grip. Iv tried slick/semi's/street tyres. And i just can't get on with them? Plus i like to skidd everywhere cos im a badass Thanks for ideas though! Keep me posted if anyone finds any more
Skoze
I'm currently using front and rear 2.125" Tioga Comp X's on my Leeson, absolutely love them! Got 'em at about 50psi, roll really nicely and grip bloody well when you're riding street, got a fair bit of give to 'em when you're on the side of a wall too even at high pressure. Nice Not good for skids though, i tried being badass like you and it just took chunks out of the rear tyre (then again, that was skidding down a MASSIVE hill) EDIT: i know you're after around a 2.3, but i much prefer the 2.125" rear over the 2.4" moto i was running previously, barely notice the difference in stability on the rear wheel/ on things, just feels generally better for some reason! Matthew62
I run Maxxis Holy Rollers front and back at between 60-70 PSI which is perfect for street. I dont get why so many are running such low pressures on street set-up's? I rode a bit of natural the other day and the grip wasn't ideal but it held on to some knobbly trees pretty well. Considering over 99% of what i ride is street i find them perfect. Normal tube up front and downhill at the back and i haven't got a puncture yet and i have rimmed out one or two times.Used DMR's and as much as i love them (run them on 26 also) i can't honestly recommend them for trials. They're not resistant enough to pinching, but they do feel lovely to ride with. Used a Kenda blue groove also - perfect for natural but very, very heavy.
