Adam-Griffin
Sprockets are never easy to get off What tooth is it? Do you need the sprocket in the future ? Is it a massive issue if it's un useable..?

WIGAN
ok chaingin from 16 to 12 is a massife difference it will be much harder than what your used to, what you running up front ?Anyway back on topic, take a peice of old chain an wrap it round the sprocket, put the sprocket in a vice and titgen up hard, turn the wheel ani-clockwise you may need a freint to help. monkeyseemonkeydo
Only way I get them off is to put the sprocket in a vice (if it's being chucked anyway you don't need to bother with the chain bit) and then just grab the outside of the tyre (much easier if you leave the tyre on for grip and some extra torque) and unscrew the wheel from the sprocket. It will probably be pretty well on there but it should go.

monkeyseemonkeydo
i am running 18t on front, do you think i should go to a 14 or somthing??Standard mod gearing is 18:12 so I'm not surprised you're finding the 16 too easy! Get the 12 on there and you'll be amazed at the difference it makes. Might take some getting used to but stick with it and it'll help your riding no end. I shall do that, I will also try the method with the vice, hopefully wont do my hub any damage will it??However i do find the 16t very easy to flick around, but does lack some backbone especdially when back wheeling up walls, when i get the speed into the walls there is nothing there to pedal against!!Thanks
monkeyseemonkeydo
I will also try the method with the vice, hopefully wont do my hub any damage will it??It doesn't need to be massively tight in the vice as it just needs to stop the sprocket rotating so shouldn't damage the hub at all .
