Really Brief Little Topic

This is short and sweet, but i really want you guys/gals feedback on this,ok this is how it is.....basicaly i've improved, improved a lot! can get up higher obstacles, balance better,do most stuff from static...........

but now i feel like im doing the same thing over, and over, and over.....and i don't feel like i'm getting anywhere and after just 5months or so back riding,i feel like hanging the gloves up already,

terrible attitude i know, and i'v spent soo much money too and wont make half of it back selling my bikes.....theres things i want to try,but i havent either got the balls for or just cant grasp the concept of how it's done to practice them, things like hooks and big taps, big gaps im struggling with too and no matter how hard i try,no matter how much effort i put in i still fail and end up having to true my wheel or replace a tube......don't want to give up,just wondering wether anyone else has had this feeling, and if you did, then what way did you go about it?

Thanks guys :(

I do that allll the time.

Take a break of a few weeks/ a mnth or so if it's getting really bad, but you could start by doing what I do/ have done. Stop riding pure tgs and get creative! Watch some new videos, try things out, reide with different people, ride with your local BMX bandits, ride different places, stop worrying about where you're going riding-wise and just enjoy being out on the bike with your mates :)

Lol funny you should say that mate,we were absolutely swamped in BMX'ers today, all trying their flatland stuff out, personally though i really do enjoy the riders i spend time with, but there hardly ever out,and the trials community in bedford is small :(

I love it when i ride in london,i look everywhere and just feel all excited, but iv been so skint lately i have been stuck riding in bedford, can't wait to go back to london, also hate that i have to ride 4-5miles on my czar just to get to the only decent riding place here,im knackered before i start.....

Iv just built up a bike for dual slalom, freeride etc..... just experimenting with gearing as im running it single speed, than im going to concentrate on that for a bit,and get in odd rides on the czar

Don't worry. Here in the U.S. your lucky to have one other rider in your state let alone town or county. So I never ride with anyone except at comps or when I drive a long distance to ride with someone. And if you have to ride far to good spots, make stuff in your yard ( garden I guess lol) to ride on. I know what you mean on that. What I find around here I still have to mix around to get it to where I can ride it. Also, don't be so hard on yourself, trials is about having fun. Most of us will never be top riders or have sponsors or any of that, don't really judge yourself on what someone else can do. They may ride a ton more or have a lot more people to ride with and show them moves. That's my input anyway. I'm self taught because no one ever taught me how to do things. Just look at as blokes having fun on bikes. That's all it is.

I'm guessing you already ride with Joel Bennett/ Joe Thompson etc then? If not, get to it!!! And if you do, drag them out riding!

Joel is no longer a bedford rider, but I know of quite a few guys from bedford and the surrounding areas. If you have a dual slalom bike go and ride chicksands for a few days and then come back to trials!
