George.E
GrindIs when you grind the side of the rim to make a ruff surface to gain better hold and bite for your brake pads. The braking is alot sharper and stronger so most riders prefur to do this.( they also don't slip in the wet unlike smooth rims)SmoothIs when you just have a smooth rim, like on a normal bike wheel.Different pads work on ground and smooth rims.Hope this can come to some help.George.
