Yes. I think it's shit when people say they don't count.

You've made the height. Therefore it counts.

wtf?

what kind of topic is this, :S

If you attempting to get up a wall dosent that mean you have to atually get up the wall? or rail.

be a hook,tap,sidehop,gap etc

If you cant stey on the wall, youve obv not made the move properly, and if you going to give it all, ohh well I can do the hight< why cant you land it then?

on off's are for inchpinchers and all that who are trying to get that extra mm even though they cant land it for shit :)

im not even going to enter in the poll, seen as its pointless

No, of course they don't count.

But with sidey's I think it does.

To put it simple, people who think it counts either can't do sidehops or are so obsessed with them that they have to justify their failure to stay on the obstacle by trying to believe that it counts. I think such people also ride with tape measures and get a boner from sidehopping 1mm higher than their 13 year old friend who also rides a mod and only does sidehops and gaps.

If you use a dab in a section it dosent count.

pretty much the same thing, if you cant keep the sidehop just use street dabs or summink,

Lets face it your aim is to get on the wall/rock/rail etc so if you on off it your in the same place you started, there for its pointless.

however on street if you on off it, you can think to your self i can make the height what do i need to do to make the full move.

take them as a learning curve, and dont count it untill you do it.

Hmm... Well. I'm not obsessed with sidehops. I can do them. Not the best at them but I can do them.

And actually I bearly on-off. Instead I just end up jumping right off my bike. I know that obviously doesn't count before you say. Don't know why but I actually find on off's quite hard.

And after reading this thread i'm starting to realise they don't count.

I think people are looking to look into this matter far too much, trying to justify wether on/off sidehops count/not its just stupid lol. It dosent matter does it if your not in competition. For a comp its a different matter, dont know why people get so worked up over this. Although i like to stay on the wall.

What? :S

+1

people have personal opinions, so they count more then what the next person says. end of.

if you sidehop the wall on/off, then you made the height and thats that, but if you want to do it and ride away then to you it wont count and you wont let yourself let it count...if that makes any sense.

but at the end of the day, ride for fun, push yourself, but dont push it too hard that this shit takes over

If you tried a tap but had your weight too far back and had to hop off backwards like an abubaca/blunt, would you count that as a tap? Not keeping your balance and having to on-off a sidehop is exactly the same. You didn't do it right because your weight was too far to the side. End of. It's not a particularly big deal, but if I'm doing one, I'd rather make sure I was going to do it 'properly'...
