RossMcd
What rear brake are you using? Im asuming rear disc as you are riding a monty 221 kamel.. In this case it could by play in the pads.. This can cause a loud click. I have had this problem before.. Its uncurable as far as im aware
Dale-Hill
Could be the rear cog that's worn down?

Ben H!
Thanks very much people!, could well be, play in the pads as Ross said or a snapped axle, or the bearings.
I am ze best
I know it might sound stupid but i had a big clicking noise that i thought was coming from my rear hub but it turned out to be that the bb had snapped. so it could be that. Ben H!
I'd rather it be the bb, i've got a spare one lol. i think this problem could well of happened on my old bike because i heard some simaler noise that was coming from the BB on that.
