Rusevelt
Just downloaded OPERA 11.00 beta :o Mind blowingly fast browser (Y) that pisses over both Firefox 4.0 and Google Chrome tenfold. Muel
What are the advantages over Opera 10? Any changes to the rendering engine? Might have to give it a looksie, but if they're changing the rendering engine I won't until it's on "proper" release, in case there are any bugs for when I'm testing/developing. Rusevelt
Yeah its not on official release as there are bugs to be ironed out, but its pretty much the same engine except the speed is noticeably quicker over Opera 10.63 specifically when running multiple programs with no lag. Muel
I'll leave it until it's released in final form them. I don't have trouble with lag really, my setup is pretty beefy.
Rusevelt
Opera 11.00 browser is now up and running.
Muel
Love it. Basically just v10 but improved. The mouse gestures bit is excellent. The new Mail panel was the only thing that I was really missing, but it's got some other stuff in too! Will give it a proper look over next week. May end up moving over to Opera as my main browser now. Already use it in Ubuntu on my netbook because it's so much faster than Firefox. Phatmike
Imagine if when your frame snapped, you could just unbolt the tube or yolk and put a new one in.
Tomm
Just installed Opera 11. Seems pretty nice actually. For one thing I'm impressed that the mouse gestures work all the time - on Firefox they don't work very well on "heavy" pages which includes the TF homepage. For that reason alone, I might just stick with it. On the other hand, it seems that the double-click-to-highlight-text behaviour is all wrong. I've got this habit of highlighting and un-highlighting stuff as I read it, so if the browser does this wrong it's incredibly irritating to me. Hmmm. JDâ„¢
Imagine if when your frame snapped, you could just unbolt the tube or yolk and put a new one in. If this is where your concept is going then it's full of win. I simply can't imagine a physical solution to that wish which didn't have a massive weight penalty. Though being able to change the geo by putting on different length stays and stuff would be far too amazing, and I would imagine a lot of kids heads exploding. Muel
I would probably start riding again just to own that frame.
JDâ„¢
I would probably start riding again just to own that frame. Yea, but I've had a rethink and if it's made out of the innards of eggs... yolk ...then I actually don't want anything to do with it at all... Matt Vandart
Just raising the teleportation thing (even though it's a bit sci fi). Has anyone had the thought, and I find this quite worrying, that what ever you teleport could just be an exact duplicate of what you tried to send? So the successful teleportation of the light particles was just a copy of the original, and the original just got torn apart, reduced to particles. If this is correct, then a teleportation of a human would just be an exact copy, and the original you would cease to be. However in this scenario your copy wouldn't know it was a copy and wouldn't see a problem with teleporting. So you would be no more, but your teleported clone would continue to go about your life. Tomm
I've seen the flim, the Fly. Cool stuff happens when you teleport
Revolver
Mmm.. What I wonder is this - As we know, you only see life from your own point of view. So... if you were teleported - a copy made and the original you destroyed - would you continue on as life as your clone, or would you die and your clone, a copy that would behave exactly as you, take up your life?
