Crossover Idea

I Snapped my crossover hose and am wondering if i use a clear bleeding hose cable as a crossover cable will it work

At the moment i have popped another barb on the end but superglued it in and then heated it up so it melts on, and then done that on the other side

Will anything go wrong.

I tried it before but the cable popped out after a week, but that was when no glue or heat was used.

As a colour extra i have put green food colouring init so it looked cool.

but that was before it popped.

Will the glue and heat stop the hose slipping off?

it wont work

The clear bleeding hose isn't designed to handle the pressure that maguras operate under, its designed to contain and guide fluid into and through the brake, without the fluid being pressurised by another acting force (other than the syringe which pushes the fluid through). The hose (nylon I think) is very stiff and is loads thicker than the bleed tube. Although pressing it you may think its pretty rigid, when you compare it to that of standard hosing, its really not

You can buy suitable clear hosing however that DOES withstand the pressures of HS33. Kchan on here used to have some, not sure if he still does though.

What I once done, was used the clear piping (Halfords windscreen washer tubing) heated it up, and fed the crossover through it, then fitted the barbed ends. Made the cross over much stronger!

That too can not possibly have worked. Not only from analysis dan, but I tried that too. The halfrods hose is rubber or PVC and when you press the brake and hold the crossover, you can feel the hose stretching. My bad, just re-read what you wrote. That sounds like an ace idea now :P

Yup tried it and was a fail, but i will get it to work so im shopping around for some smaller diameter clear hose.

I did try sealing up the bottom with molten rubber, then plasic, and then as a extreme,,, solder wich done naff all,

I will update this post with my finds.

oakbrey or pertek may have something (Y)

They also can supply and fit anodised fittings of a few colour choices!
