Guest itstroy08
I Snapped my crossover hose and am wondering if i use a clear bleeding hose cable as a crossover cable will it workAt the moment i have popped another barb on the end but superglued it in and then heated it up so it melts on, and then done that on the other sideWill anything go wrong.I tried it before but the cable popped out after a week, but that was when no glue or heat was used. As a colour extra i have put green food colouring init so it looked cool. but that was before it popped. Will the glue and heat stop the hose slipping off? Guest itstroy08
why not, it has the same amout of power as it did when i had the maggie crossover just it popped off because of itim about to bleed so ill tell you the results
matt rushton
Will depend on the size of the hose, if its exactly same size as magura hose, it wont matter on what colour it is.
Jamie_Trials
Works fine with my mates, just needs to be right thickness looks cool aswell
Alex Dark
er it works, just makes the brake spongy as the hosing expands when under pressure...or so i found
chris slater
It will work to some degree, but in my eyes it dont, unless the hose is the same id as the standard maggie one as stated above.Cant see why you would want a poor brake feel either! Dan6061
What I once done, was used the clear piping (Halfords windscreen washer tubing) heated it up, and fed the crossover through it, then fitted the barbed ends. Made the cross over much stronger!
PaRtZ
it wont workThe clear bleeding hose isn't designed to handle the pressure that maguras operate under, its designed to contain and guide fluid into and through the brake, without the fluid being pressurised by another acting force (other than the syringe which pushes the fluid through). The hose (nylon I think) is very stiff and is loads thicker than the bleed tube. Although pressing it you may think its pretty rigid, when you compare it to that of standard hosing, its really notYou can buy suitable clear hosing however that DOES withstand the pressures of HS33. Kchan on here used to have some, not sure if he still does though. What I once done, was used the clear piping (Halfords windscreen washer tubing) heated it up, and fed the crossover through it, then fitted the barbed ends. Made the cross over much stronger! That too can not possibly have worked. Not only from analysis dan, but I tried that too. The halfrods hose is rubber or PVC and when you press the brake and hold the crossover, you can feel the hose stretching. My bad, just re-read what you wrote. That sounds like an ace idea now Edited September 5, 2009 by PaRtZ
