Chain reaction have been sick for me, they were shit hot at delivering. They made one mistake in 4 years of me using them though - instead of a sora rear mech they sent me a dura-ace front mech. Needless to say I can sell that to buy two more sora mechs :P

yea they're usually pretty good-seem to have a sale on pretty much all the time, they take paypal and it's free delivery, as being in northern Ireland most bike shops in England have to charge to get things over here as there free post (if they have it) is mainland only. But I'm waiting to hear back about the trials calliper piston as they did say they'd try and order one for me, figured I'd let them run about and do the work before I tried anywhere else. The show room is pretty nice it's about 45 mins away from me and it's just bling heaven for bikers compared to any other bike shops over here.

Here's a bomb proof project I've kinda been working on it's a 2001 Grossman-project fdt (Dual Slalom / Dirt) frame, Grossman where a German company but don't think they're still running think they we're bought over by someone else but not entirely sure, All the bits are kind of thrown on at the moment to save them lying about, and stop them getting damaged, it can take 24" or 26" wheels. Again as with my Pashely frame in the bike pics thread thought someone might want to see a bit of history in a frame you don't see about to often

I have been enjoying the snow :)

Only noticeable updates since the last pictures:

- Blackspire Stinger chain guide

- Front shifter removed

- Granny ring removed (Who needs a granny ring anyway? :P)

- Front mech locked out

Oh and I finally got around to cutting down the steerer tube, it makes the bike look much tidier.

Future upgrades planned before this years trip to the Alps:

- Rockshox Pike 454, probably coil rather than air

- Hope 20mm bolt through front hub

- Bigger discs, 205 front 185 rear

- Welgo MG1 pedals

- Possibly upgrade the rear hub to a Hope Bulb or Pro 2 and fit an M-Axle

Got it like this:

stp.jpg

It weighed right under 31 lbs before the fork. Put on the Argyle, dropped it to 30lbs even.

Rest of my parts came in today, see if you can spot the differences:

STPseat.jpg

I dropped 4 lbs from just cranks, bar and seat post (weighed on a fish scale at the shop)!!!! Old parts were no name heaviness, switched to:

Easton Monkey Lite XC carbon

Easton EC90 seatpost cut down to 2inches below pictured

Shimano LX M580 cranks stripped to 32t

I don't know know if I'm going to change stems...probably somewhere in the future. I know for sure a Hope is going on the back as soon as the XT kicks the bucket.

I have Small Block 8s sitting here in my bin. My buddy is still out of town until the 18th and has the matching front wheel, which is I think an XM719. Currently a D729 is on there. Tires alone I should drop nearly 2 lbs, and the front rim about a pound. So I'm looking at a total drop of nearly six lbs bringing me to 24 lbs. 25lbs and some change is/was the goal, and likely target, but that's a lot better than 31!!!!! A new bike scale is on order as it's broke at the moment, so when the new front rim arrives, the scale should as well.

This was originally a budget project since I got the bike for 2 bills, but I couldn't resist the temptation of the nicer parts.

Marin Quake AL7 looking funny with the shock removed, had to be sent off to MOJO for repair. Thinking of selling the frame, frame and forks or whole bike if anyone's interested (Y)

LOL, I knew I'd get shit for the stackers. I cut about 40mm of steerer off and STILL had that much left. I don't know right where I want to run my stem yet as those bars feel a bit different than the ones that were on there. I'll be swapping out the stem soon, and the stack height on that Giant stem is pretty small, so I didn't want to have to kick my self in the ass for cutting off too much the 1st time around. It'll be cut as soon as I can figure out which stem I want.

That's a piece of mountain bike history. I'd sell it back to Specialized USA, sure they'd want a fair bit of money for it.

My mate who i used to work with at a bike shop is currently building a retro re-build of a GT Lobo DH, orginal Boxxers, XTR cranks, brand new Shimano Airlines pneumatic gearing, basically the D's B's from 10/11 years ago i'll get some pics when its finally done, should be amazing!
