Acid Etching Rims?

I am completely tired of grinding my rims, and have been trying to come up with a better option. I have a few new rims waiting for a test.

I think that a nice acid etch would give nice little micro pits all braking surface. Has anyone tried this, and did it help with wheel slip?

Has anyone triad coating the rim with a soft urethane? In theory having a soft surface to meet the soft pad should work, as long as the coating is super strong...

wouldn't micro pits be the worst of both worlds? not a significant amount of friction generated compared to smooth...and less surface area compared to smooth?

erm didn't plazmatic try some kind of disc rotor coating that worked like this?
