Grovesy93
I am going to get my 1st trials bike soon and want a cheap one incase I break it a little. Ive had a good look on ebay and I was wondering what you guys think of me : 16 and 6' 1" getting a Diamondback Tekiya and upgrading it with a single spead kit from tarty? My mate rides an Onza Bird and his brother has a T-Pro but i think I would learn better on a stock as come from a mtb background. Any help would be greatly accepted CheersSean
D-J-M
If you want to ride a stock bike I would say that the M.A.D Phase 1.3 is a better bike than the Tekiya and is around the same price. The M.A.D Phase 1.3 has a front disc brake and is slightly shorter than the Tekiya so should be easier to learn on, also M.A.D are a well known trials brand whereas diamondback make many different sorts of bikes. If you get the Phase 1.3 you may still want to buy a single speed kit as when learning, the derailleur will probably take some abuse and may break.Hope I have helped. Cookyboy
I think you would be suited to a really short mod!
chris_trials
the tekiya is quite a heavy bike. i'd personally go for a second-hand self- built bike like an echo or an onza.hope thats helped you decide what to get
jonnyullapool
i think that you should buy a onza cleaner it is £538 but it comes with a rear magura HS33, and drilled rims so it means that you won't have to upgrade for a bit.http://www.tartybikes.co.uk/search.php?category_id=
theom
You would be alot better off buying a second hand bike, with proper trials spec . Edited September 6, 2009 by theom
