josh barker
i was looking at smooth rims im pretty new to this game which is better?good idea will look in the for sale sectionHi, what you would want is a disc on the front (magura louise, avid bb5-7, hope mono trial etc). as hs33's on the front can crack your forks due to them being just so powerful!. hs33 on back with a 4 finger lever blade a metal tpa wheel as the plastic ones are well known for rounding off the threads and some good pads that work well on a grind then it will be a beast! Ali C
hs33's on the front can crack your forks due to them being just so powerful!.its not really the power that cracks the forks, its more due to the brake mounts being welded to the fork where they flex the most causing a stress riser. Dale-Hill
If your going for smooth rims, get some Heatsink yellows. But if you want to ride in when its a bit wet get a grind and some try all/koxx browns
broggers
Cheers for the advice guys really good help. Was thinking about hope disk on the front seems to be the most common thing v on the back disk on the front. Is there any cheap maguras in the for sale section as im pretty sure i cannot post there yet?I doubt ill ride in the wet. Bit of a fair weather rider. The rims i am currently using are a set of 24" halo combats, tad heavy but look good broggers

Matt Vandart
its not really the power that cracks the forks, its more due to the brake mounts being welded to the fork where they flex the most causing a stress riser.Unless they are on the back. Also as Ali often says V brakes front and back is win/win.(Says Matt that now has maggies front and back- )My kids bike has Avids front and back and it just gives you a different lighter feeling when your riding, but I'm sticking with my maggies because I can just ride his when I feel like riding Vees.
