Duncy H
Right, I came to take the stem of my mod and one of the bolts has rounded and wont come out. I believe it is aluminium and is on a try-all nuc stem which means that the bolt is kind of sat inside a hole and is difficult to get to if I were to try cutting the bolt and then using a screwdriver. Anybody got anytips?

aener
If it ain't too tight, super glue allen key to head, then undo.Tight, drill it out.
trialsmax04
Drill it out and then tap a new thread for a slightly bigger bolt.
Matt Vandart
Right, I came to take the stem of my mod and one of the bolts has rounded and wont come out. Anybody got anytips?Hey Duncy H,cut the bolts with a blade in between the stem gap.Remove stem.Post Mrs her forks- Seriously though:- I have the same stem, I don't think the bolts are aluminium on mine, but if you cut carefully between the gap (very carefully mind cos I think she's gonna buy your stem too), then obviously the bolt head will fall out. Then the other part of the bolt should just screw out the remainder of the bolt, you may have to soak it in wd40 or better yet Plus gas.If your feeling lucky cut the bolt as before remove the bolt head, and get a smallish drill. Drill the bolt from the head side and it should just screw out the other side.Good luckMatt
Duncy H
I think I will try the super glue method first then if that fails I will cut the bolt somehow.Post Mrs her forks- Oh and if you are wanting the stem too i will order a replacement bolt, just to let you know
elliott the onza man
Hammer a bigger allen key in as it usually leaves a print, then just undo.
Matthew_Gibson
hammer a t 25 or 27 in there. should sort it out
Revolver
Hammer a bigger allen key in as it usually leaves a print, then just undo. This does work, but you also have the risk of rounding the hole the bigger allen key makes. craigjames
As someone has said hammer in a slightly larger torx key and use that. Unless the bolt is well and truly jammed in there then it should work.
Bigman
I very much doubt it is an aluminium bolt, no stems come with them as standard, i expect it is just a coloured steel bolt, like has been said, tap a large torx key into it and you should be able to take it out Adam
