You're over pedalling quite a lot, which makes it sound quite "muddy" and dischordant in places. Try very quickly releasing and reapplying the pedal while you've got the bass notes pressed before any kind of harmonic change, by sorting that out a bit it should make the playing sound a lot crisper and cleaner. Don't worry too much, it should come with time and experience. As another top tip really try and analyse the sound you're producing at any one time and constantly think "How could I improve this sound", if you start doing that now it will give you very good foundations for the rest of your playing career.

Awesome stuff. How long have you been playing for?

The piano is an instrument I really want to learn. On that note, can anybody recommend an electric piano/keyboard that would be good for starting on? Or perhaps an online resource that can advise me in that sense. I'm completely ignorant at present.

My first piano/keyboard was a Casio CTK-810, simple but very good for start -> http://www.vanillamusicstore.com/zencart/i...sio-CTK-810.jpg

I think that any keyboard is good for learn.

Piano is by far one of my favourite sounding instruments. Used to play when I was younger, did it for about 4 years, got good then went to high school and binned it off for heavy metal music lol.

A quality bit is Yirmua- river flows in you. Check it on youtube. Might not be technical, but its still brilliant.

Get anything by yamaha, their cheapest full size (88 key) digital piano will last you forever. Also consider roland (overpriced/ don't sound very good) and Kawai (Though i've never liked them much). The other brands don't come close, don't bother with anything except for those three.

I know a lot of people who seem to learn pop tunes with great success off youtube, but if you have ambitions of playing to a higher level then lessons are essential in order to learn a solid technique.

They're good keyboards, but yamaha, roland and kawai are generally considered to be the most realistic. In my opinion the sound and the feel of the yamaha is far superior to roland and kawai, the speed of a yamaha's action is almost as good as a real piano and certainly fine for practising even very high level pieces on, and technologically they are 10 years ahead of everyone else.
