trialsmax04
I have just aquired a hope mono trial. I use to have a clarks Clim8 six piston on a 203mm rotor and it was gash compared to the hope. I have downsized the rotor to a 160mm with no adaptors on the fork leg. when i look down at the disk, the pads only cover about half the disk. Do i need a 180mm rotor? Also the caliper seams to be to one side. The disk is more to the left than central in the caliper. Do i need to get my fork leg faced?max Edited August 30, 2009 by trialsmax04
indianatrials
Get a BB7. lol. Yes you will probably need to face your disc mount.
Matt Burrows
Also you will need to space the caliper correctly so that the rotor sits in the middle, and get the right size rotor/adaptor for your caliper. What number caliper is it?

Yes you will probably need to face your disc mount.Sorry i dont like cable brakes And i do believe the caliper has a number 3 on it. I dont know if this has anything to do with it. I read somewhere that you can get shims to space the caliper. where can i get thease from?cheers
esfrost
Shims are for moving the caliper inwards or outwards. You wont be able to fix this problem with shims. It sounds like 180mm caliper to me, you should try a 180mm rotor.
ben_travis
also, what forks are you running?

J Trials 31
Nice bike! Just needs new stem and bars, and a rear disc. Just get a ton on shims that will fix most of your problem. I'm surprised it didn't come with any. When I bought mine it came with a pouch with a bunch in it.

trialsmax04
Wow i actually got complements about my bike lol she rides okay. That pic was taken ages ago, i will have to get a more upto date picture of it on here. Went to my LBS (dartmoor cycles) I thought they where a good bike shop but he didnt have a clue on what i was on about. He gave me a few free thin washers anyway. Made the brake loads better but now it binds I really want to sort it because its uber powerfull. Will have a go setting it up better when my new rotor arrives.
