N.Wood
Depends how much you bash Fine for Mr Smooth over here, but I'd imagine a heavy duty tube/few more PSI would go some way to help out us bashers.

ben_travis
Whoa now, don't tar all Conti tyres with the same slippery brush. Which ones have you used?okay, okay, i did go a little far when i suggested ALL conti tyres. i mainly aimed it at the super light ones on TB. mountain king, and rubber queen seem very poor from my experiences.when i rode alis der kaiser at the warehouse in may it was superb, however just looking at it now, i would NEVER pay that price for a tyre. I think its disgusting that manufacturers can ask for so much for a tyre. (not aiming this at tarty, as i know they have to add a margin to the MRRP or business wouldnt work.however tyres have doubled in price from this time last year. DOUBLED.anyway back to my original point. The only tyre that would possibly tempt me away from my minions front and rear combo would be that der kaiser. Makes Kena nevegals seem like quite a bargain.....
Muel
You have to remember that the Contis use the Black Chilli compound, which last for ages. I estimated 3 times longer than a 42A maxxis tyre, but it's a very rough estimate. Edited August 28, 2009 by Muel

nyoli
tyre clearence ... unless you often center your rear wheel, it will touch the frame, because there's no tyre clearence
