Mikey Tomo
Ok in this description I will be using the wonders of colour Right, when I turn this bolt it turns ok. However, when I turn this bolt the other bolt turns and the red thing does aswell. I put mole grips on the blue bolt yet when I turn the green bolt it still doesn't come out yet the red thing keeps turning. How can I undo the green bolt? eskimo
Put wheel into frame. Tighten blue bolt which will clamp red cone. Undo green bolt.If that doesn't work. Remove red cone. Put a 10mm washer in place of it, so it sits against the axle and nothing else. Now put into frame and tighten blue. Now undo green. If that doesn't work you should of greased the bolts in the first case. Now remove blue. Do the old spray WD40 down axle and leave overnight. The hub/ wheel will want to sit with green on the floor. This should allow the WD40 to drain through. Now repeat step 1. You should take both bolts out. Clean the bolt threads thoroughly. Get some pipe cleaner and clean inside the axle. Also some WD40 sprayed down there (using red straw) should clean out any other crap. Wipe out any excess left by the WD40 using more pipe cleaners. Then grease them bolts before installation. Try not to drop them and getting them covered in dirt This should solve your problem.
Mikey Tomo
The problem is the wheel is already in the frame and won't come out lol.
Duncy H
Try the wd40 method, although if it is in the frame and doesn't work/spims the opposite side do up the blue one more! If it is litterally stuck in there is nothing like a bit of extra leverage.

willis-gu
tighten the other bold back up then start again by trying to loosen the moving bolt!
Ashley-Wood
hold the bit what the green bolt screws into with some molegrips and undo?
Mikey Tomo
It's weird though because whe it turns it doesnt do anything Doesn't loosen at all.
Danny Metcalfe
It's weird though because whe it turns it doesnt do anything Doesn't loosen at all. strip thread?
Mikey Tomo
Not sure because the bolt still grabs slighty. If it was stripped how would I get it out?
Revolver
Tighten the working bolt, blast WD40 in the not-working bolt, then undo that, when it's soaked in, then undo the other one.
Danny Metcalfe
Not sure because the bolt still grabs slighty. If it was stripped how would I get it out?bolt will still grab til it runs out of thread.. if it was stripped would have to cut the bolt off or drill down into it
Mikey Tomo
I am now thinking it's threaded but not too sure. Don't want to be drilling into a profile so is there any other ways of getting it out?
Mat Smith!!
Use 2 allen keys, undo the bolt what wont undo first.
eskimo
If the axle is stripped then red will not turn when green is being turned. If the whole axle turns while you turn the green bolt then it's just seized.
Mark W
Basically just gotta do a combo of things - take out the bolt that fits in alright, and spray a bunch of WD-40 directly down the axle so it's going onto the other bolt (May wanna lie your bike on it's side to get it in further). Let that soak in. Tighten the other bolt in as hard as you can, then you'll just have to use a hammer and an allen key to 'shock' the seized bolt free, rather than trying to use brute force to make it turn. Mikey Tomo
Could it be a snapped axel?
Mat Smith!!
Could it be a snapped axel?Could be, does the wheel wobble at all?
Will Arnold
mine did this, i put it down to overtightening really - causing the threads to become slightly damaged.
Mikey Tomo
Could be, does the wheel wobble at all? No, But one bolt is fine, the other isn't. I'm thinking its the bolt is in too tight and its causing the thred insert to turn instead of the bolt coming out of the thread.
Mark W
its causing the thred insert to turnThere are no threaded inserts in Profile hubs.
