monkeymoped
a coup[le of years ago when i was racing downhill i had an intense worth £4500 and a so called specialist bicycle insurer wouldn't insure it because it was so expensive..................and one of my mates got it but it only covered him from theft from the house not if he mugged for it or got stolen at races and he had to get a wall mounted lock in his house on the first floor before they would insure him and he to send in photgraphic evidenceso in my view its an absolute waste of time and energy......they'll try anything to prevent payout don't bother

Dale-Hill
You could just ask your parents if you could put it on house insurance, I think you can do that.hope I helped, ElliottThere all ready on it. But it will only cover me up to 1k for both of them, and if i want that cash i have to buy new.So that's why i wans extra/seprate, so if they do get knicked i can be covered and get both (money wise) back. r2wtrials
may be worth just checking out http://www.cycleguard.co.uk/home.asp as they claim to cover comp bikes etc...But as said above, you have to make sure you follow the conditions in the small print with any insurance company or they will try and wriggle out of paying. Matthew62
All of my bikes are insured against theft outside and inside the home. Each bike is covered at a standard of £1500 but if they're worth more (they are all around that) i can add them individually, and thats with morethan home insurance. it doesnt cost much on top of my contents insurance.People who say it isn't worth it are stupid. Im my bike gets nicked/taken off my while riding, the last thing i'm going to want/be able to do is buy it again. Definetly get bike insurance. bigamac
Mine is covered on home insurance. But is also covered on my lock insurance. Some locks you can buy for the bike will cover up to certain amounts if they are broken through. So have a look at them as well, mine is up to £2000.
DannyBazz (:
Yeah... Mine is under house insurance, and covered for £1600. Didn't have to do anything hardly... just got a valuation from LBS, sent it off and that was that

psycholist
My bikes are on the house insurance. Got it from 123.ie - there's a 123.co.uk too. They cover bikes up to €5000 without a specific valuation and above that with a valuation. Bikes under about €500 I think are automatically included. They're insured in the house and while locked in a car as well as while locked outside.
Adam Griffiths
if you are quick enough to notice its gone they wont have time to strip it. a tracker also means you can go and collect it.
Danny Metcalfe
if you are quick enough to notice its gone they wont have time to strip it. a tracker also means you can go and collect it.but if you collect it, with a little brute force, you are in deep.plus you have to prove every part is yours, this means reciepts, now if your buying off forum or second hand dont always get an invoice or cash reciepts
