J.KYDD
Right I realy need to clear this issue up after a near miss with the Po Po after I was pulled over on the motorway because one of the surfboards on my roof was starting to try and fly.Having heard it may be illegal I pushed my feet as far into the footwell as possibe and got my mate to get out and sort the board.Iv always heard different things from different people about the legality of dirving with no shoes on, and realy need to know for two reasons:1- I do it all the time, and therefore a little sketchy.2- If it is againts the law, its pointless! - Its safer to drive barefoot than in wet shoes
The Duck
Don't know about legality, but surely you can keep a pair of 'dry' shoes in your car? Driving bare foot is horrible.

I mentioned a similar question to a girl I was seeing a little while ago, and she told me that the News of the World had an article on it, after Kate Moss was photographed driving without shoes. According to the article its legal. I'm pretty sure that I believe her.All of the rock solid tf evidence you will ever need right there! Revolver
It may be legal, but sometimes, cops are as uninformed as anyone else... so you could get pulled up about it anyway.A bit like how the new rules make 24" bikes children's bikes or toys, and therefore, allowed on the pavement... The Duck
... f**k keeping a pair of shoes just in my car, itd never happen...I do?Anyway, you're not going to get pulled over for driving bare foot are you. Unless you've got a perspex car of course. Chances of a copper even knowing its illegal/even noticing are slim if its regarding something else. Tom_
I do?Your not me lol. I couldnt do it. Id just end up wearing them, or getting them out to go somewhere and never bother putting them back. Barefoot doesnt really bother me anyways

MadManMike
I just found an amazing site called "Google", it's really cool - I asked it the same question and I got all these results:http://www.google.co.uk/search?hl=en&s...is+driving+bareEDIT: That was a joke, before anyone gets on their period about me being a forum nazi or something Edited August 24, 2009 by MadManMike

Revolver
And how the flippers are they ever going to know your driving bare foot ? Honestly... Well, if you got captured for speeding, and they pulled you over, looked in the window, or asked you to get out the car for some reason, and saw your feet...We're talking about hypothetical stuff here. Jolfa
Yeah exactly and its not as if they can wear shoes is it.Why on earth would it be illegal?
Hendrix
Why on earth would it be illegal?Quoted straight from hereIt's not illegal, BUT if you had an accident and it was found that your braking reaction time was impaired because you were wearing inappropriate footwear, then you could be convicted of careless driving. It would also open you up to a civil case for damages from any 3rd party injured in the accident.
N.Wood
Inappropriate footwear as in redonkulous high heels or similar rather than no footwear?
Mark W
I'd imagine you'd still get f**ked legally with that if you were barefoot?
