peggysue
hi people, ive got a slight problem with my 4 bolt mounts not holding the magura silinders properly. they are brand new zoo pitbull forks and brand new echo cnc 4 bolt mounts. the brakes set up tightly and squarely. however under heavy braking ,i.e gaps to front, the brakes seem to twist inwards in the mounts. its annoying the hell out of me having to undo the mounts and twist them back in all the time. anyone else had this problem and solved it ? or could it be that i weigh 18 and half stone? Are you setting your brake up square to the rim. Just wondering as this may be the problem. I personally have never had this problem. Ashley-Wood
same things happening to my mate on the rear, only thing i can think off is file them down a little so when you tighten they can squeeze the cyclindere more?
maxxis26
ok its not ideal but could you try a booster wouldnt look too nice but it might solve your problem
weirdoku
By any chance are your bolts touching the bottom of the mounts before they can be done up as tight as possible? I had this problem with standard magura clamps but never had the problem with CNC clamps.

I had this problem with standard magura clamps but never had the problem with CNC clamps.nope, bolts have plenty of room to breath, wont tighten them no more incase i strip the fork threads....i might try some new cilinder magura washers.... see if that does the trick and if not then ill have to try some of those echo mounts that clamp the cilinder wothout the need for a washer

Revolver
Problems like this usually mean new O-ring washers. That's the stupid plastic things.
Muel
Do the mounts have stops on them? If so, they're designed to tighten down to them.If I were you I'd put extra long bolts in, like screw one in and coun the available threads, then measure it all up and cut some down to fit, then tighten the mounts up tighter. Flip-Mod
Once those plastic washers loose theyre shape they will keep moving whatever. Either buy some new ones or wrap some electrical tape around them a few times.
Jimmy_k
I had the exact same problem, I tried new plastic washers but it didn't helpI filed the a bit off the inside faces where the two halves of the 4-bolt mounts touch. You can then do them up tighter and they don't slip.
ginger allen echo
They are MINT! Much less work needed to set up brakes!I hate them! when i had set my brake up square to the rim and tightened the bolts up they moved the pads to an angle. They're only good if you have properly square mounts..
