How Do You Side Hop?

Hello,

Can you tell me how to side hop? Like in lots of detail?

I have tried and tried. I can do the pedal kick to start off but i cant do the actual side hop.

Please explain from beginning to the finish of this technique!

It's the one where you are either on the rear wheel or you can do it from a stand still.

Many Thanks,

Danny

P.S: If you can get a video tutorial then please post it here. Also the Ryan Leech one doesn't help me at all!

1.Get up in the back wheel at first.

2.Then drop your front wheel ( prelowed ).

3.Then kick and jump side ways a little bit.

4.Then tuck your backend of the bike up.

( Hope this helps you and keep on trying start on small things and then work your way up. )

Hoby.

Thank you ever so much for this tutorial. I will try and try :D I'll start on the grass trying to get a bit of wood to get the hand of the technique first.

Cheers,

Danny.

It's a very similar technique to a straight bunnyhop just without the speed obviously!

I found side-hopping with both wheels on the floor rather from back wheel was easiest to learn first.

Get yourself lined up parallel from the obstacle so your as close as you can comfortably get. Get crouched down on the bike like your pre-loading yourself for the jump then spring up and try to pull your front wheel up and across onto the top of the obstacle. Put a pedal kick in as you spring up to help you drive upwards and pull the bike up infront of you.

This video is for the bunnyhop but it's a very similar principle just standing still and with a pedal kick to get power rather than using speed.
